Never just waiting for a scheduled visit
Two resident medical officers are at the hospital every day. They monitor admitted patients directly and step in when something needs attention.
Take a mother arriving in labour: a resident officer assesses her right away. If she needs to be admitted and prepared for delivery or surgery, that happens on the spot, and the on-call surgeon is brought in to operate.
Two teams
Resident officers handle daily monitoring and urgent in-hospital needs. Consultants lead scheduled chambers and surgeries, mostly on Fridays.
